When I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, I felt isolated. I had so many questions, but it felt like my doctor sort of shuffled me out of the office and sent me on my way. He gave me a very brief overview of the condition, but really didn’t provide me with much information in the way of how I could improve my symptoms and manage my disease. The only thing he really talked about were the medications I could take to alleviate symptoms. I was confused, frustrated and somewhat angry that I wasn’t given more information. So, I took matters into my own hands and started conducting research on the illness. I found out about Jordan Rubin and this book, Restoring Your Digestive Health, which has been a great resource for me. I have incorporated his Guts and Glory program into my daily life and what a difference it has made. The book taught me all about how the digestive system works, including how to promote a healthy balance within it to regain and keep your health.
For about the last six months I have become an avid follower of the Guts and Glory program and a regular visitor of Christine’s Corner. I have learned so much about the importance of probiotics and whole foods, and increased my confidence when it comes to visiting my doctor for routine visits. I can ask intelligent, informed questions and be involved in the healing process. I do take the traditional medical therapies that are prescribed by my physician, but I also use probiotic treatments in conjunction with it. He is aware of anything and everything I put into my body and fully supports my incorporation of
