Managing my Crohn’s disease

When I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, I felt isolated. I had so many questions, but it felt like my doctor sort of shuffled me out of the office and sent me on my way. He gave me a very brief overview of the condition, but really didn’t provide me with much information in the way of how I could improve my symptoms and manage my disease. The only thing he really talked about were the medications I could take to alleviate symptoms. I was confused, frustrated and somewhat angry that I wasn’t given more information. So, I took matters into my own hands and started conducting research on the illness. I found out about Jordan Rubin and this book, Restoring Your Digestive Health, which has been a great resource for me. I have incorporated his Guts and Glory program into my daily life and what a difference it has made. The book taught me all about how the digestive system works, including how to promote a healthy balance within it to regain and keep your health.

For about the last six months I have become an avid follower of the Guts and Glory program and a regular visitor of Christine’s Corner. I have learned so much about the importance of probiotics and whole foods, and increased my confidence when it comes to visiting my doctor for routine visits. I can ask intelligent, informed questions and be involved in the healing process. I do take the traditional medical therapies that are prescribed by my physician, but I also use probiotic treatments in conjunction with it. He is aware of anything and everything I put into my body and fully supports my incorporation of Jordan’s dietary suggestions. I use New Chapter whole food, organic, probiotic vitamins and supplements, and herbal therapeutics, as well as CapraZyme digestive enzyme. And since Crohn’s disease causes inflammation of the digestive tract, I have started using a product through Garden of Life, which is also carried through beyondprobiotics.net. The information available about each product on the site, as well as the affordable prices and fast shipping keep me coming back. My health has improved quite a bit since I started buying products from the site, and I’m feeling better than I have in a long time. I am so glad I took matters into my own hands and did my own investigative work to deal with my health issues, as opposed to just accepting the traditional medications my doctor prescribed and letting that be my only involvement.
