Take the High Road

Did you know that it’s possible to be taking in all the nutrition you can get your hands on and still be low on specific vitamins and minerals? It’s true. Sometimes the human body does not absorb nutrients properly, and this can mean some serious health trouble down the road.

If the body is not absorbing nutrients and eliminating waste properly, this can show up in your skin. Our skin reacts in many ways to an internal imbalance with responses like acne, excessively dry or oily skin, dark circles under the eyes and more.

We often treat the skin with a something topical like a cream or balm. But the skin is made up of three primary layers—the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous fat layer—and each of these layers is directly linked to what’s going on internally with your body, not just externally.

For example, the epidermis (the layer of your skin that’s visible) contains no blood vessels. It relies on the deeper layers for nutrients and oxygen. And, in turn, the deeper layers of skin rely on the entire bodily system to receive their nutrients. If your digestion, absorption, and elimination are out of whack, this imbalance can affect your skin.
Recognizing problems with your skin as an indicator of internal issues is a good way to monitor your body’s needs as time goes by. If you’re concerned about the things that may, or may not, be happening in your own body, there are measures you can take.
Natural healing is an excellent approach to reactivating your body’s ability to absorb nutrients. Consider visiting your natural health doctor for information on what you can do to boost your body’s natural abilities. If you don’t have a natural doctor, and your comfortable discussing your desires with your regular physician, he or she may be able to recommend some more natural methods for managing your nutrition levels.
Either way, you don’t have to settle for inferior health. Spend some time researching natural methods of healing and don’t waste any more time feeling bad, looking bad, and wasting life.
